How ACP will take Football Further

Hey Knights, as I’m sure you all know ACP is moving campuses, and that brings with it new opportunities to improve on what is already established. That being said, we decided to ask Head Football Coach Myron Blueford about how the new school will help elevate ACP Football to new heights and take the program further than anticipated.

Q. How is the new school going to elevate this program to even bigger heights than what you’ve achieved in just four short years?

A. I think there are a couple things that will immediately elevate our program and build off of what we have done in the first four years. The first is more players. One of the hesitations for players to come to ACP was the lack of facilities. A small weight room and playing on other schools’ fields are things that would detour students from coming, despite our success. That is no longer a hurdle, so I can see more students choosing ACP. The other is developing our athletes. Having more equipment as well as bigger and more facilities allows us to do more. I think that our athletes will develop at a faster pace.

Q. What are the players and coaches most looking forward to about the next season do you think?

A. Having a home field is by far the most exciting and most anticipated aspect of getting a new school. There is no better feeling than having a home field to call your own! All the traditions that we haven’t been able to do, that we now can do, just magnifies the experience of a football player and coach. The first game at home will be really emotional for all of us.

Q. Are there any incoming freshman or transfers to look out for on Friday Nights potentially?

A. I don’t have a specific incoming freshman that I am excited about, but we are currently running our Jr. High Camp and have about 30 players in attendance. That is the most players that we have had at a Jr camp. You can pretty much double the amount that we have at camp and get an idea of how big your incoming class will be. We anticipate that there will be around 40 incoming freshman, which is extremely exciting!

Q. What is most exciting about being apart of ACP Football?

A. I think the most exciting part of being apart of ACP Football is the FAMILY aspect. We are different; it’s all we talk about, and regardless of where you are on the depth chart, what interest you have outside of football, or the caliber of player you are, you are accepted and a part of the family! It’s all about having a great experience and working hard for the person next to you. That’s why we have been successful as a program and why students at ACP are joining the Football Program!

Were all very excited about the new school next year and all the new opportunities involved. Stay safe Knights and remember to Strive for the Impossible and be Extraordinary.
