ACP Creative Expression Competition

ACP Creative Expression Competition

The creative expression competition will happen soon in October. The theme will be connected through diversity, finding commonalities and connections in our diverse community. This creative expression competition will help you show off your talents and skills while doing something you are passionate about. There will be two types of entries: writing, and visual art. Anyone who wants to enter the competition can go on the Knightly update and click the website to enter starting October first. Make sure you know if you want to do it by then because all entries are due by October 31.

I guarantee you this competition will enable you to have a great experience with being creative and intuitive. It will also give you a chance to share your work and allow you to make friendships and bond with others who share your interests. Winning entries will be displayed in downtown Chandler in January 2022. First-place winners and schools will be recognized at a city council meeting sometime in February 2022. All other winners will have their awards sent directly to their school.

As for the competition guidelines, you cannot have your name on the front of your entry. The essay and poetry entries are limited to one page but don’t let that stop you from really trying to get creative and try your very hardest. If you are doing a poster, photography, video, or painting, vertical orientation is preferred. When submitting a video, limit the length to two minutes. Remember to let yourself make mistakes and be vulnerable with your work. You probably won’t get it exactly how you want it the very first few times, and that is okay.

The Creative Expression competition is going to be very exciting and enjoyable. Not only do you get to put your art out there into the world, you can also receive feedback that will help you a lot in the long run. Also, entering this competition will look great on college and job applications depending on what you want to do. Lastly, getting involved with events like this will really make you have a more pleasurable high school experience. No one will judge you if you don’t win; all you need to do is take a risk and try it out. After all, you never know how it will go. You could end up really enjoying the competition, so give it a shot. As always be sure to strive for the impossible and be extraordinary!
