Spooky season is upon us, and if you’re a movie freak like me you might want some Halloween movie recommendations. Watching scary movies or just regular Halloween movies during the spooky season is honestly one of my favorite things to do. Curling up on the couch with juice and cookies while surrounded by family and friends laughing over movies is so great. But sometimes it’s really hard to find a good movie. Well, lucky for you, I have some great Halloween movies to recommend.

First off, you can never go wrong with an animated movie, so my first recommendation for you is Monster House. This movie is one of my personal favorites and I’ve seen it countless times. It is rated P-G and is in the category of horror, but trust me, it’s not that scary. Monster House is a movie about three friends who discover that a house in their neighborhood is alive and wants to hurt them. They must stop the house before Halloween so that it won’t hurt all the trick or treaters. The movie is funny, heartwarming, and it keeps you on your toes. It is the perfect movie to watch with your family or your friends when you just want to chill and watch a cute movie.

My next recommendation is Edward Scissorhands. It is an all-time classic movie, made in 1990 with one of my favorite actors, Johnny Depp. The movie is rated PG-13 and is in the category of love and fantasy. If you are the type of person to like action and lots of twists and turns in your romance movies, then this is the one for you. The movie is about a scientist who creates a human named Edward. However, he dies before he can finish him and leaves Edward looking a little odd. Edward meets a beautiful girl and begins to fall in love with her, but his differences make it hard for her to fall in love. The movie is sad, romantic, and takes you on quite a whirlwind.

My final recommendation for you is Goosebumps. Now I know I say a lot of movies are my favorite ones, but this is the ultimate Halloween movie. Made in 2015 this movie is rated PG and is in the category of horror and fantasy. The movie is about a teenage boy who moves to a new town. After some time of living there, he meets a girl who he starts to really like. However, she is the daughter of a very popular writer, R. L. Stine. The boy accidentally starts unleashing the monsters from R. L. Stine’s books and has to find a way to stop them with the help of his friend, the girl, and her father. This movie is so great to watch by yourself or with family. It is so funny and cute. Overall, all of these movies are great options and will definitely make you smile.
