ACP’s Robotics Club Is Going to State
One of ACP’s strongest clubs and programs, Robotics, has successfully managed to qualify for State yet again.
The club consists of four separate teams; the Knights, the Jesters, the Blacksmiths (previously known as the Squires), and the new Mages. The Knights, ACP’s first and oldest robotics team, first qualified for the State Championship in their second year and earned many Excellence Awards in 2015-2016 season, along with a Judges Award. In the 2017-2018 season they reached the semifinals at State.
The Jesters are famous for completing an entire robot in three days and in the 2015-2016 season they represented ACP-Erie for the very first time at VEX Worlds, a robotics competition. They are known for their bold ideas that seem ridiculous until they are shown to be successful in the actual robot.
The Blacksmiths, or as you might previously have known them as, the Squires, is a mix of new members and experienced team members. They successful qualified for State in the 2017-2018 season.
The Mages are a new team to ACP-Erie Robotics and are excited to start creating.
Since the forming of the club six years ago, ACP-Erie has managed to get a shocking amount of awards and honors, including State Tournament Finalists, State Programming Skills Winner, State Judges Award, and the State Sportsmanship Award.
With their successful history at State and other championships, ACP-Erie Robotics Club will without a doubt manage to make us proud again. Good luck Knights!
