The Art of Nature
During the summer, ACP senior, Sofía Soto-Herrera, attended a photography camp and visited the ASU Natural History Collections, where she was able to explore the fascinating aspects of nature. She photographed her experience there, capturing images of various bugs and creatures, and shared a few of her favorite photographs with me.
Shown below are some of beautiful photographs Sofía took during her visit:
When I asked Sofía to tell me a little bit more about why she took these photographs, she told me, “I just really enjoyed seeing life outside of Arizona in a small building.”
To expand on her statement, she also mentioned, “I played around with light, color and shadows with my photos.”
Sofía’s photographs reveals another side to nature that people often do not notice. They provide a more in-depth perspective of the creatures which live among us, and are magnificent in emphasizing the vivid hues nature holds. Sofía has an eye for determining framing and keeping focus while maintaining emphasis on her subject. Her talent in photography is impressive, and I definitely hope to see more of her art soon.
