Open House
The annual Open House event has come and passed. Now that the weekend event is over, there is a widespread feeling of accomplishment amongst the participants. Volunteering at the Open House comes with plenty of responsibilities including, but not limited to, waking up early, wearing proper attire, setting up the booths, waiting for your booth to be approached, and answering questions about both your club and the school. While these responsibilities might not be the greatest of fun, everyone who volunteered did a marvelous job at making the day go smoothly. Now, there was a myriad of clubs and extracurricular activities that were showcased at the Open House, but here are some words from a few of the volunteers.
Farah Eltohamy:
Q: What club(s) are you showcasing today?
A: This year I showcased National Honors Society.
Q: What was some interesting information you told about your club?
A: We provided parents with information about the service opportunities that NHS offers, the academic requirements in order to become a member, and the responsibilities members are expected to live up to.
Q: Would you say showcasing your club today was a success?
A: Yes, I would say we did a great job in showcasing our club to both parents and young students.
Q: How do you feel about volunteering at the Open House and what is the best thing about the event?

A: Yes, the people that we showcased Drama Club to have definitely shown some interest.
Q: How do you feel about volunteering at the Open House and what is the best thing about the event?
A: Volunteering at the Open House is a lot of work, but I would say the best thing about volunteering at the Open House is being able to tell potential students what Arizona College Prep has to offer in regards to clubs and academics.

Overall, students did a great job at showcasing the school’s clubs and extracurricular activities to the people that attended the Open House. It was great seeing students interacting with their peers and kids and parents interested in the school. Kudos to the student volunteers, parent volunteers, and the school administration for making this event possible.
