Upcoming College Campus Tours: UArizona and NAU
Our juniors have a lot of big decisions to look forward to in the next year, from deciding where to attend college to taking standardized tests and narrowing down their future career interests. Luckily, our College and Career Center specialist, Mrs. Dalton, is here to help! To make college decisions a little easier, students should consider taking part in some college campus tours.
Coming up in the next few months, ACP juniors have the opportunity to visit several colleges. On March 25th, there will be a school-sponsored trip to tour Northern Arizona University. Also, on April 16th, students have the option to attend a tour of the University of Arizona. Space is limited on these tours, so act fast if you are interested! Only the first 50 students will be allowed to attend each tour.
To sign up for these tours, visit the College and Career Center website and go to the Campus Tour Sign-Up page. On the page, click on the link for the tour that you would like to attend, then fill out the form by this Thursday, February 27th, 2020. Also, stop by Mrs. Dalton’s office in the College and Career Center to get a permission slip to go on the trip. Make sure to turn in $10 to Mrs. Arceo in the bookstore, and turn in the permission slip by Friday, February 28th, 2020.
In addition to visiting college campuses, there are a lot of different opportunities to begin learning about college. To take some of the pressure off of deciding where to go after high school, it may help students to begin exploring different career fields through volunteering and shadowing various professionals. As well, in their AP Language classes, juniors have signed up for Scoir, a college planning website focused on organizing accomplishments, interests, scholarships, and potential colleges. Students should continue exploring this website to help with planning their future.
ACP’s students have exciting futures to look forward to, so it’s time to start exploring options and researching how they should spend the rest of their lives after graduating high school.
