The Make A Wish foundation is one of the most well-known non-profit organizations in the world. Companies and groups across the nation have banded together this month to provide support for children afflicted with life-threatening illnesses, and it’s time for ACP to support these kids as well.

Make A Wish foundation, founded in 1980, seeks to offer the ability to fulfill the dreams of afflicted children everywhere. Whether it be eating lunch with a celebrity idol, serving as a park ranger for a day, or even taking a dream vacation, here’s how you can help afflicted children enjoy Christmas.

How can I help?

The most common and effective way to support the children and their families is through donations to their wishes. There are multiple ways to donate, and the majority of which can be done from your own couch.

How can I help, if I can’t donate?

Becoming a Make A Wish volunteer can be just as helpful as donating! Helping to facilitate wishes or even present wishes to children is a pivotal factor in the foundation.

How can I help from school?

ACP Erie continues to support this foundation through fundraising and other awareness activities. On December 8th, from 5-9pm, ACP Student Government is holding a Make A Wish Dinner Night at the Chipotle on Chandler Boulevard. Precisely 50% of the proceeds from this night go to Make A Wish Arizona, as long as you tell the cashier you are with ACP Erie. Otherwise, 100% of the proceeds donated in the cafeteria at any point during lunch this week will go towards making a child’s wish come true!

On Friday, come out and relieve some stress in the school Car Smash! It goes from 5-10pm, and only costs 50 cents per hit!

ACP Erie would like to continue the spirit of Wish Week by ensuring that all proceeds toward Winter Wishes go toward the Make A Wish Foundation. Tickets from the bookstore are free with an activity card, and $15 without an activity card. Tickets at the door are $20, and donations in the ballpark of $5 are greatly appreciated.

This Christmas, millions of children are impacted by life-threatening illnesses. By attending any of these school events, or even just spreading awareness for the foundation, you have helped a child to have a fun and magical Christmas.
