ACP Basketball Fast Breaks into an Exciting Season
The return of the ACP Basketball season is off to a strong start. As of now, the ACP basketball team is 3-5, where two of the lost games were within two offensive drives of a victory. The annual Royal Flush game provided one of the most exciting ACP sports moments this year, despite a close loss that still boasted the talents of not only each player, but also the entire ACP team. Varsity team member Matthew Kearney (pictured left) met with me to discuss the team’s potential this season, and how we can expect the team to perform.
Q: What has the team most improved on since last season?
A: I think the team has improved as a collective; we’ve really come together as a team and everyone is ready to make that extra pass to benefit the team.
Q: What can ACP basketball fans look forward to this season?
A: Basketball fans can look forward to an exciting game every night; we’re always a lot more hyped-up when we’ve got a great crowd there,
Q: Why do you think people should watch ACP basketball?
A: I think ACP basketball is one of the best sports to watch at ACP; we’ve got a mix of great shooters, slashing guards, and big men who can throw it down.
Q: What is the most important factor in building a successful basketball team?
A: The most important factor in building a successful basketball team is to have everyone on the same page working for the same goal. At ACP, I think we’ve got a great team with some amazing chemistry.
Q: What’s the expected W-L record for this season?
A: As a team, we’ve got a goal to win 8/9 of our home games and post similar records on the road.
Q: What do you need from the school to perform better?
A: The best thing our school can give us is showing up to cheer. We play our best with the largest crowds, and I love the energy you can feel with a whole crowd of Knights supporting you.
The ACP Basketball team provides one of the most exciting school events on campus. The team pushes relentlessly, on and off the court, to improve, so the least that any ACP student can do is reciprocate that passion on the stands. The next home game is December 4th, at 7:00 PM, in the gym. For a fast-paced and exciting team experience, come down and watch your Knights in action!
