Right now, time may seem infinite, and high school feels like it will last forever. However, college will creep up sooner than you would expected, so it is important for students, especially seniors, to start preparing for the future. One such area that students should begin working on in preparation for college is applying for scholarships. College is expensive, and paying for the entirety of your tuition will just mean continuously emptying your wallet for many, many years; therefore, students should to start searching around for scholarships that will help ease the weight of their college payments. Now, not everyone knows exactly where to start when it comes to finding scholarships, so I decided to help out by composing a list to help students out.

Some of the “big money” scholarships include:

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation offers various scholarship programs that are designed to help outstanding students with financial need. There are different scholarships given by this foundation, so make sure to check out their website to receive more information.

Scholarships with high money prizes are great to apply for, but being conscious of all the offers out there is important, too. The money adds up; therefore, whether the prize is $500 or $1,000, the more you apply for, the more you receive, and the more money you have in to store in your college fund.

Another place to find easy scholarships is collegeXpress (https://www.collegexpress.com/) where multiple programs and contests are offered. DoSomething (http://www.dosomething.org) also provides students with an opportunity to win scholarship wards while taking action in social issues.

In the end, the major rule of scholarships is to apply for as many as you can. We all have big futures, so let’s start working toward it.
