Kevin Lu: Setting Sights on the Big Leagues
ACP’s 11th grade is full of promising young students ready to make their mark on society. One of them is Kevin Lu. Many know him for his volleyball skills, leading our men’s varsity volleyball team to easy wins and exceptional season records. Continuing Kevin Lu’s skillful regiment, he attended the USAV High Performance A2 Youth volleyball training camp in Colorado Springs, CO, this summer. Kevin attended this prestigious Olympic-pipeline program with 63 other athletes from across the nation.
Lu’s athletic talent doesn’t just end with volleyball! Also filling his packed summer schedule, Kevin attended the USBC bowling Junior Gold National Championship in Dallas this July. This championship entailed 1,494 other event champions, but Kevin pushed through the crowd to reach the top 32%! If you see Kevin around campus, don’t forget to congratulate him on his more than reputable summer.
After being asked on reaching these prestigious goals in his volleyball career with our very own ACP Knights, Kevin had this to say: “We fought through as a team, and we pushed our strengths to the limits. We deserved to be there in the championship and played as tough as we could. Don’t worry about the other team and how good they are, because it’s about how much of a team WE are.”
Racking up national bids and championship titles hasn’t slowed Kevin’s passion for either sport. The Olympics are in his grasp as national championships continue to bow to Kevin Lu’s relentless love for his team and his sport. No matter what, the ACP Knights support Kevin as he strives for the impossible and becomes extraordinary!
