“Thrilling,” said sophomore Nia Cannon, describing an unforgettable night, Prom. During the 18th and 19th centuries, debutante balls were the start of dancing with friends or a date. Then, on December 5th, 1879, an article referring to a Junior Prom entailed details about an ambassador to Mexico, Dwight Morrow, whose diary entry was about his invitation to Prom and the experience. At ACP’s Prom, there were many experiences that everyone who attended could talk about forever.
One of those individuals was Gabriella Suarez, a junior here at ACP. When I interviewed Gigi, she explained, “Prom night was enjoyable, and if I could do it all over again, I would.” At our school, we have the junior/senior Prom together, which gives us another opportunity to bond as a family and grow our school community closer. Not only is Prom a rite of passage in life, but it also allows students to express themselves however they desire. Some juniors and seniors dressed up to our theme, Starlit Soirée, while others dressed in vibrant but beautiful dresses and suits. Prom 2024 was held at the great Corona Ranch on Saturday, April 27th, from 8-11 PM. The music was great to dance to as junior Cayden Henley created the euphonious playlist. After Prom, several students enjoyed thee rest of their evening filled with food and relaxation after a long but exciting night.
As someone who attended, I can say it was phenomenal to see everyone dressed out of their school attire. Overall, Prom night was one for the books. I cannot wait to see what the future Proms hold for ACP students. Prom can serve as a reminder to strive for the impossible and be extraordinary. Go Knights!
