It’s important to be involved outside of school, and one simple way to do that is to join a club. Not only do they offer endless new opportunities to make new friends, but they also open connections with other people and organizations outside of our school. On August 8, ACP had our annual club fair where almost all of the school’s clubs were put on display for other students. Taking the time to let students explore their club options is an effective way for students to gauge their interests in possible new clubs. New peers are exposed to a of myriad opportunities in their first year, while returning students are given another chance to join any clubs they didn’t their previous years, or embrace a new found passion. They were able to interact with club members and leaders to get extra information about the club they may want to join.
Taking place in the courtyard, the students were given 30 minutes to explore around our campus, with clubs spanning from inside the cafeteria all the way to the C building. This year, there were over 80 clubs in total, which displays how ACP’s population is not only growing in number, but also with new ideas. Each club offered something unique to the student body, and their topics were certainly diverse. The dozens of clubs included everything from science and food, to literature and honors societies. If you feel like charity work is for you, there were several volunteer clubs open. These clubs couldn’t run without representatives from their respective clubs arriving early to start setting their booths, decorating them with banners, awards, and creative flyers. For those who did not find a club or have new ideas and want to start a club, Mr. Roth is always willing to listen.
The club fair is a great way for ACP to come together to show the hard work and dedication students have for their passions in the form of extracurricular clubs, and we hope that students find great joy in the clubs they choose. Go Knights!
