Preparing for Halloween 2022
It’s finally October, and you know what that means: it’s time to get into the Spooky Season, and Halloween is right around the coroner. With only 11 days left until Monday, October 31st, there’s not much time to buy candy for sugar-craving trick-or-treaters and/or finding the perfect costume for you to dress up in! Since Halloween falls on a Monday (reminder to not stay up too late!), Mr. Bickes is allowing for students to come to school wearing appropriate character attire.
If a student chooses to wear their character attire, they must make sure that it is neither violent/gory or indecent. If the the attire is accompanied by a prop, the prop cannot be a weapon, in the shape of a weapon, or generally dangerous nor dangerous-looking. If wearing a character mask-such as a clown mask or a knight helmet-it needs to be removed in classrooms. Fortunately for many students, face paint and hair coloring is allowed as long as its not messy. Of course, if you have any questions regarding the attire that you plan on bringing on October 31st, ask administration for any clarifications regarding your attire before wearing it to school that day so you are abiding by school and district policy.
Keep these in mind if you are planning to pass out treats at home:
From being a witch for a day to dressing up as a member of one of the Harry Potter Hogwarts’ houses, Halloween is a day where you can pretend and imagine yourself to be any character you want! Teenagers or not, a kid should still get to be a kid while they only have a few more years of their adolescence left, and this includes trick-or-treating, watching Halloween movies with your friends, going to Haunted Houses, or merely dressing up for the fun of it. You only get one day to celebrate Halloween, so make it count!
