The Prairie In Kansas
On a prairie on the south side of Kansas
I stare at the blank canvas,
Paintbrush in hand
Ideas in mind
As I wonder.
Wonder about anything I can imagine.
My thoughts run wild,
My brush runs free
While I wonder if this work of art
Will ever make it out of this house
For long enough to inspire another small child.
Paint drips down the canvas,
I take a step back
Only to realize that while I was focused on my thoughts
I had drawn the life I had always dreamed of,
Before I walked down dirt road
All the way to this house
On a prairie on the south side of Kansas.
