Lights in the night sky
Flicker softly as the wheels
Of internal strife push me forward into
The cold, night breeze.
Tomorrow will begin,
When today says goodbye.
I wonder why
the rush is so normalized.
So many things to do
But not enough time.
Productivity and efficiency burns as bright
like a solar eclipse,
for the dim light is noticeable,
but you have blocked out my work.
Tonight, I sigh
as the crisp, tight air grabs
reminding me that this is temporary,
and tomorrow will arise.
Hearts pumping red,
and lungs puffing the heavens through
Pushing our limits for success,
for what is life
Without the continuous cycle of validated victory?
