Book Recommendation: The Maze Runner Series

I love to read. Ever since I was a child, I would read all the time whenever I got the chance. At first, I started reading books like Judy Moody, Junie B. Jones, and Nancy Clancy. But as I got older I started reading books that were more appropriate for my age, like The Divergent Series, The Hunger Games, and The 5th Wave. My all-time favorite book though is The Maze Runner series. This series of books are action-packed, fun to read, and have a great overall message.

The Scorch Trials ( Maze Runner) (reprint) (paperback) By James Dashner : Target

In The Maze Runner series, there are three main books, The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials, and The Death Cure. The books follow the main character Thomas as he gets thrown into a maze not knowing who he is, why he was sent there, and what will happen next. There a village of boys who made a home for themselves, but he wants out. He embarks on this journey and tries many ways to escape the maze. He feels much loss, makes many friendships, enemies, and even finds love. Throughout all the books, there is always some type of conflict that the gadders (kids in the maze) don’t know how to face. Every single time, though, they pursue and keep going no matter what, they stick together and always have each other’s backs, and that’s what makes these books so great. The books show great examples of friendship, healthy relationships, and strong connections that last a lifetime.

This book is in the genre of dystopian, which is my all-time favorite. I have read this book over and over again, and I never get bored of it. It has action, romance, lots of tension and will keep you on your toes the entire time you read it. It is very action-packed, so when you’re reading it, it is unlikely that you’ll get bored, and it feels like you’re watching the movie because it is so detailed. The books are also really great because they have different narration styles in each book and switch characters letting you know all of their internal thoughts and feelings. Each book is different in its own way and is more exciting than the last, which is why I enjoy this series so much. I would also definitely recommend watching the movies after you read the books because they are great as well.

The Death Cure (Maze Runner, Book #3) by James Dashner — Southampton Books - Sag Harbor Books

It is also a mystery book and the great thing about it is you find out the plot line before the characters, so it’s fun to watch them find out and see what they will do. All the characters are very unique and different in their own ways. They all play various roles in the book and all have a certain role that can only be held by them. I absolutely loved the characters in this book because they are around my age and are relatable unlike most characters in a lot of books. All of the books convey a great message to young teens that teach them about persistence, hard work, and friendship. The books teach about not giving up and always trying to do the right thing no matter what. If you are someone who likes books in this genre, I strongly recommend that you read this series!
