Upcoming ACP Events!
As we start off the third quarter of the year, initiating the second semester, I’m sure that many of students are already swamped with assignments and upcoming assessments. However, not only are the students at ACP High School academically occupied, but many of our athletes have been involved in lots of games over break as well as students with extracurriculars that are outside the classroom. Our lovely staff and volunteers organize many events that have or will take place during the break or during school, and all of these groups haven’t stopped their momentum despite coming back to school after two weeks. Not only are our athletes balancing the stress of sports and school, but we also have a ton of clubs that are making an entrance to shine in the spotlight. For example, National Honors Society applications are open for all sophomores and juniors! To learn more information or to apply, students must join the Google Classroom and use the join code sent out in the weekly Knightly News. Keep an eye out for flyers around campus and listen to the daily announcements for information on meetings or other changes that have been made. There is also 24/7 tutoring available for students, which started on January 7th. Some of the subjects available for this tutoring includes math, science, English, business, languages, and more!
Class of 2022, an announcement for you! Since you seniors will be graduating in only a couple of months on Thursday, May 26th (no pressure), make sure your diploma is printed and ready, and that all the information on it like your first, middle, and last name, are correct by checking Infinite Campus. However, the school can’t deviate from the child’s birth certificate, nor can we add any name that is not on the birth certificate. Make sure to contact Mrs. Wilson by January 21, 2022 and let her know if any adjustments need to be made. More information can be found on the Knightly Update of January 9, 2022.
A scholarship opportunity is out! Learn more about it here.
Although this event is not a school event, it’s important to note for any interested artists here that the City of Chandler Mayor’s Office has announced the 2022 State of the City Art Contest. This youth arts contest includes cash scholarship for the winners, and the art can be submitted as drawings, paintings or digital. Submissions are due February 4, 2022 and winners will have their work displayed at the Chandler Center for the Arts. This year’s theme is “What does Chandler look like through your eyes?”. Learn more about the contest here. There will also be an article about the contest this week so stay tuned!
Over the last semester, ACPHS students completed over 4,300 service hours! The amount of time our students have volunteered has an impact value of $110,869! Excellent work, Knights! Remember to record your service hours via the InnerView platform. The presentation for more information will be provided here. And thank you for all that you’ve done for our community, Knights! We hope to see more of this in the future!
And finally, a list of the upcoming sports this week, as well as a VEX Robotics competition on Saturday at 7:30 A.M. is in the cafeteria. That’s all for today, Knights and remember to strive for the impossible and be extraordinary!
