Do you know what was the origin of spirit week is? Spirit Week goes back to 1952 in Palo Alto California first known as ” Friendship Week” and was intended to welcome back students. Instead, it turned into a half-week celebration that was later named Spirit Week. Now, in 2021, we still have spirit week all around the world. Our school’s Spirit Week it will be on October 19th to the 22nd. It will be a week full of fun and excitement to lead up to Homecoming, as well as being the first Spirit Week of ACP High School! Everyone is very ecstatic about Spirit Week, and we hope you all decide to participate and join in on all the fun that will be happening very soon.

Spirit week is going to be from October 18th to the 22nd. The theme is Monster Mash and here are the themes for the individual days of the week: Monday is Squad Ghouls, which is Halloween class colors. Freshman is black, sophomores are orange, juniors are purple, seniors are green, and our faculty will be red. Tuesday is Double Trouble/Twin Day so be sure you and your peers all dress up the same. Wednesday is Ghostly Gossip or white lie day so plan to wear a white shirt and write a white lie of it. It can be funny or just as simple as saying “I have white hair” if you really have brown hair. Thursday will be Scream Pink, which will be a pink out for volleyball, so wear as much pink as possible to support volleyball and the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation that we are raising money for. Lastly, Friday is Friday Night Frights/ Costume Out so come decked out in your Halloween costume.

Spirit week is a great way to feel a sense of community and warmth among fellow classmates and friends. ACP has has moved to a bigger campus, so it is essential to show our sense of family. If you a bit timid, spirit week can really help you broaden your horizons to new people and experiences. For most of the freshmen, this is our first Spirit Week leading up to our first Homecoming dance, so it would be great to get a lot of participation, and it is also really fun dressing up, so don’t knock it till you try it. Another thing that is so great about Spirit Week is being able to enjoy each other’s company and relax.

School and just life in general can be stressful and Spirit Week can help you get in a great mood. Participating and having fun at school will allow you have a great high school experience and leave you with so many great memories. Posters with information about Spirit Week will be hung up soon and a Knightly update will be sent out regarding all the details you’ll need to know. Hopefully, you feel the sense of togetherness and community all around us and know that school is an amazing family community. As always remember to strive for the impossible and be extraordinary!
