Talent is no stranger to ACP. Whether in academics, sports, extracurriculars, or hobbies, ACP students simply have a knack to be extraordinary. This week, I was able to interview seventh grader Eric Wright, who enjoys etching out comics and drawing his own unique caricature of teachers, about his artistic abilities. Here is what he had to say:

Q: Why did you start drawing caricatures of teachers?

A: I like to entertain, and drawing is

Awesome Artistry. Eric Wright created a nifty caricature of one of ACP’s history teacher, Mr. Benson.

really fun for me!

Q: Do you have a favorite drawing?

A: Not really, though there are things I do like to draw, such as caricatures of family or of my friends. I also like to draw nature.

Q: Do you have any artistic inspirations you base your style on?

A: Yeah, mainly from cartoons. When I was younger I watched a lot of cartoons, too many to count.

Q: Are you taking any art classes this year?

A: Not this year, but I also like to work on paintings and pottery.

Q: Do you have any other interests outside of drawing and painting?

A: I like to play video games, watch T.V., read, and listen to music.

Q: Do you plan on creating more caricatures?

A: Yeah, probably of more teachers.

Eric has a true skill, and I am glad to hear that he will continue to strengthen his artistic abilities and create more of his entertaining comics and caricatures.

Another one of Eric’s comics. The comic features a classic example of what a typical student may experience on a regular day at school.
