Spring is a time of rebirth and renewal as flowers bloom and birds return home. Students’ chance to rest and renew comes in the form of Spring Break. As you await for our beloved break, which is quickly approaching, here’s a chance to build excitement about everything you can do. I’m here to give you some fun, relaxing suggestions in case your brain is tired after working hard all these months.

1. Go on a walk.

A simple walk through nature can rejuvenate you and your spirit. The beautiful Arizona skies with their ever-changing colors and fluffy clouds can provide you with a sense of peace and calm. I recommend listening to your favorite serene music or just listening to the sounds around you, such as the chirping birds, playful children, rustling grass, etc.

2. Go on a picnic.

Spring means clear skies and a slight breeze, which is otherwise known as the perfect time for a picnic! Grab all your favorite food and head outside to enjoy it under the sun. You can have a picnic with your friends, family, or even by yourself. Picnics are a perfect way to connect with your loved ones or connect with your inner self and reflect on you.

3. Take pictures.

Taking pictures can be a supplemental activity to the early two as you can take pictures of nature on your walk or take pictures of your aesthetic set-up for your picnic. You can even take pictures indoors! I personally love taking pictures of stuff around my room to provide a glimpse into the things that seem to be ordinary, but can be extraordinary. By taking pictures of stuff around you, you can provide a look into your personality and likes. One fun way to add some spice to your pictures is to use cool effects like turning down your shutter speed to create a blur effect.

4. Watch the Grammys.

The Grammys are the biggest night in music for many artists. The 63rd Annual Grammys Awards are on March 14th, 2021. It is a chance to see some of your favorite artists perform and take home their very own Grammy. One act I am, especially, looking forward to seeing at the show is BTS, who are the first KPOP artists to be nominated at the Grammys!

5. Binge-watch a show.

This one is pretty self-explanatory. There are just so many amazing shows out there for you to jump into and enjoy the adventure. I’m going to provide you with some shows that I really enjoyed or are on my watch list.

5a. WandaVision

WandaVision is one of the most talked about shows right now. The season finale comes out this Friday, or March 5th, so spring break is the perfect opportunity to join the bandwagon and fall in love with the adventure. The sitcom takes you through the decades as you watch Wanda and Vision live in a completely new way that we have never seen before. The eight-episode show is available on Disney Plus for your watching desires.

5b. Crash Landing on You

Crash Landing on You is a Korean drama about a rich businesswoman, Yoon Se-ri who ends up paragliding into North Korea, due to an unforeseen weather conditions. In North Korea, she meets a North Korean soldier, Ri Jeong Hyeok, who attempts to hide and protect her.  The romance drama is my all-time favorite show as it has romance, drama, comedy, action, etc. The show is beautifully done and teaches you more about life and love. The 16-episode drama is available to watch on Netflix.

5c. Umbrella Academy

The Umbrella Academy was suggested by the editor-in-chief of the ACP Knight Times: Katarina Marceta! The show has been on my watch list ever since Katarina described the action-packed comedy to me. The show is about seven infants with special abilities that are adopted by a billionaire in attempts to create a team that can save the world. The show takes you through the lives of these siblings as they struggle to stop the impending apocalypse, all while dealing with their dysfunctional family life. It is the show that I will be binge-watching this spring break. The two-season show is available to watch on Netflix.

6. Chronologically watch all the Marvel movies.

If you truly want to dive into something that is intense and builds a whole universe, I highly suggest jumping into the MCU, or the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For your movie marathon, start with Captain America and end with Avengers Endgame, then obviously watch Wanda Vision. Your brain will be buzzing by the end as you follow the insane connections between each movie and look at the hints for the future of the MCU. Truly, a fun escape that gets your mind working!

7. Have a self-care week.

My last suggestion is to have a self-care week! You can incorporate any or all of the suggestions above into your self-care adventure. Some other ideas are having a spa day, reading a book, listening to an inspiring or captivating podcast, journaling, etc. Just do whatever makes you happy and allows you to rejuvenate. Self-care is seen in many different forms so don’t limit yourself to your everyday perception of self-care instead find your own definition of self-care!

Well, there you have it, Knights! Seven fun Spring Break ideas to help you relax after all your hard work this quarter. Everyone here at ACP is so proud of you and all your accomplishments in 2021 so far. Take this chance to do whatever you didn’t have time for during school or do the everyday things you enjoy doing. Just remember to be happy and have fun. I hope you all have an amazing Spring Break. Can’t wait to see you all in our final quarter of this school year and at this campus. As always, remember to strive for the impossible and be extraordinary!
