The New Voice of ACP: Bridge Bach

At the beginning of each school year, ACP students and staff listen to a variety of candidates for the position of “Voice of ACP” and vote on their favorite. The Voice of ACP is typically a senior student who delivers ACP’s daily announcements for the entirety of the year. After alumnus Jared Riley’s graduation last year, the hunt for his successor has come to a close with senior Bridge Bach receiving the most votes. Here’s what Bridge had to say about his most recent victory:

Q: How did you prepare for the voice of ACP?

A: I’ve always wanted to be the voice of ACP, even as a freshman, so when the opportunity came around, I was more than ready. Plus, years of heckling the administration in the halls and learning how to get a laugh out of the school really helped.

Q: What’s it like announcing to the entire school?

A: It’s incredibly nerve wracking! Not because I’m afraid people won’t like it, but because I’m pretty sure one of these days I’m going to say something that gets me suspended.

Pictured above is Bridge Bach.

Q: Have you picked out a catch phrase yet? If so, what is it?

A: I haven’t picked up a catchphrase yet, but I’m definitely open to suggestions. I’ve always been rather formal with my greetings and farewells, so a nice “good day” seems great.

Q: How did you feel finding out you won?

A: Quite frankly, I was surprised. I thought Sebastian Javadpoor had done a better job and Noah Craft had the senior vote. But, I was happy to know that I had achieved this goal and finally become the voice of ACP.

Q: Did you celebrate? If so, how?

A: Yes, I celebrate every weekday by doing the announcements.

Q: Would you do the announcements in a different accent each day if we dared you to? Can you do any accents? If so, which are your favorite?

A: I would certainly try. I speak naturally in a monotonous voice, but if I was dared to, absolutely. I guess I can do a country accent pretty well and a British accent too, but I don’t have a favorite. I’m always open to suggestions, so just let me know what you want to hear.

Thank you, Bridge, for taking the time to give us a little insight into your newest achievement, and congratulations! On the behalf of the newspaper staff, we challenge you to do a British accent during the daily announcements for a week, starting Monday, November 16th until Friday, November 20th. Good luck!
